When you lease a car, you are typically responsible for maintaining and repairing it during the lease term. This can be general maintenance, such as services, tyres, etc., to appropriate insurance cover and restricted mileage over the lease term. The one area that we at RR&R have expert knowledge of and can make as painless as possible for you is Wear and Tear.
Wear and Tear Allowance
If you are returning your vehicle at the end of the lease term, it is expected to be in a condition reflective of the term. This is called wear and tear allowance. However, excessive wear and tear, such as significant dents, scratches, or damage to the interior, may result in additional charges at the end of the lease.
Before returning the leased car at the end of the lease term, the leasing company will usually inspect its condition. You may be responsible for any required repairs or maintenance to bring the vehicle within acceptable standards.
Plan ahead
We recommend that a few months before the return and inspection of the vehicle to the leasing company, you have the vehicle’s bodywork assessed by us. We are experienced in the kinds of damage that are unacceptable and can provide you with a quote to have these repaired. The earlier the assessment by us, the better so that we can book the vehicle at the optimum repair time before handover.

Managing multiple lease cars
If you are responsible for multiple lease cars as part of a business, we can help there, too. Similarly to our fleet repair service, we can work with you to maintain the lease vehicles throughout the term to avoid a build-up of dings, dents and scratches that could make the work more involved and expensive at the end.
